What can i do with a major in hdfs?

    human development and family studies

Students in our major are interested in working with children, adolescents, and families in a variety of settings. For example, some go on to become Early Childhood Educators, Early Intervention Specialists, Youth Directors, Government Advocacy Agents, Child Life Specialists, Family Life Educators, Child Protective Service Agents, and other types of professionals in the field of HDFS. Students in our Family Studies concentration can apply to become a Certified Family Life Educator: https://www.ncfr.org/cfle-certification. Students in our Child Life concentration can apply to become a Certified Child Life Specialist, although in the near future there will be a requirement for graduate training to obtain this certificate.
