    CHILD DEVELOPMENT RESEARCH CENTER

    HUMAN DEVELOPMENT & FAMILY STUDIES

    RESEARCH FACILITIES

    Picture
The CDRC offers opportunities for the Department of Human Development and Family Studies faculty and researchers across the University, state, region, and nation to conduct interdisciplinary research relating to children and families.

The research wing of the CDRC resides on the second floor of the facility and houses the offices of the College of Human Environmental Sciences Research Chair and other research faculty.

Seven spacious suites are available for principal investigators of externally funded grants, providing space for personnel and research staff to conduct research projects. Five large research observation rooms can accommodate four to eight research participants. Each research observation room is equipped with two-way mirrors. Multiple video cameras in each of these observation rooms allow investigators to record from different angles. The research wing also has several digital data coding rooms. In addition, the classrooms downstairs in the Children′s Program have research booths with sophisticated video-recording capabilities. Research rooms are located near the classrooms for testing and observing individual or small groups of children.
