    play areas

The indoor and outdoor physical environments include materials and equipment which permit the children to initiate their use. The equipment is arranged into interest centers where art, block building, book handling, pretend play, sand and water exploration, small motor play with manipulative materials, and large motor play are invited. Experiences in these centers are adapted to meet the needs of the individual child as well as the group. Individual and group involvement is facilitated through planning and guidance.
